The firm of Meir Nir Architects & Town Planners was founded in 1965. The firm specializes in town planning and in designing public buildings as well as resident neighborhoods. As part of its activities the firm takes part in many projects in the public and private sector. The firm's main clients are governmental ministries, municipalities, governmental companies and corporations, as well as private sector companies and entrepreneurs. The designing and planning services, which the office offers, include preparation of specified municipal building plans, construction and implementation of appendixes, supporting the planning process to the stage of execution, specified planning and overseeing the implementation process. The firm of Meir Nir Architects & Town Planners has received many awards, due to participation in public planning contests, and many of the projects designed by it appeared in professional journals published in Israel and internationally. The firm has acquired great experience during its years of operation. This experience includes planing new settlements, High Tech centers, commercial centers, plants, office buildings, hotels, synagogues, and schools, public libraries and sport centers. Two of its central projects, which the firm is currently concerned with, are the new urban settlement of Zur Yitzhak and the year 2000 Terminal of the Ben Gurion Airport. The client of the latter is the Israeli Airport Authority. The firm of Meir Nir Architects & Town Planners is located in northern Tel Aviv and has been run by Meir Nir for the past 33 years. The Architect Meir Nir is a graduate of the faculty of architecture and Town planning at the Techion (The Israeli Institute of Technology) in Haifa and is a member of the Israeli Architects' Association. Between the years 1987-1994 he acted as the association's chairman. The firm employs a professional team of architects, who are assisted by advanced computer and database systems and outside consultants, who deal with the aspects of engineering and surveys.
